The snout of Gangotri Glacier GAUMUKH (4255m) is the source of the Ganga river. Pilgrims trek 18 kms from Gangotri upto the sacred spot on foot or On ponies to take a holy dip in the ice-cold water. the trek to GAUMUKH is enough to hypnotise one with mesmerizing views of Bhagirathi peaks and the ranges of Shivling peak.
