Dodital at a height of 3024m is surrounded by dense forests of Oak. The lake is filled with brown trout (Fishing allowed with permit).

The trek begains with a short drive of 12kms from Uttarkashi to sangamchatti. The walk is 21 kms via Agoda village, the first village in Uttarakhand to have been identified as a prototype for Community based Tourism (CBT) in Uttaranchal.
